CEREMONIAL CACAO PASTE - ATI

£55.00

This 100% Heirloom Ceremonial Cacao (500gr) is sourced directly from an Arhuaco Indigenous community in Colombia.

Our ‘Ati’ variety (meaning Mother Nature in the Arhuaco language) is lovingly and organically grown in biodiverse forests in the sacred lands of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The Cacao used to make this bar has been nurtured by polycultures created by the community as parts of their efforts to regenerate this special land.

By drinking this Cacao you are part of a meaningful history - one that helps strengthen the Arhuaco cultural heritage, honours the Earth and upholds ancient traditions.

The Arhuacos are one of the four remaining Indigenous peoples who live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (The heart of the world). They are known for their resilience in being one of the few untouched indigenous civilisations to survive culturally intact in their land.

Through their work, they are reclaiming lands that were once taken for cattle grazing, illicit coca cultivation, and other monoculture crops. They are restoring these areas with native wood, fruit, and medicinal plants and trees —reviving ecosystems and creating habitats that allow tropical animal species to return to their natural home.

Their main philosophy of life is based around the preservation and respect for Mother Nature. Through their spiritual offerings and dedication, they maintain the balance of Earth and the ecosystem that surrounds them.
