This 100% Heirloom Ceremonial Cacao (200g) is sourced directly from an Arhuaco Indigenous community in Colombia.

Our SIERRA variety is named in honour to the land and the ancestors who have protected it for generations. This criollo variety is an exceptionally rare and special strain originally cultivated by the ancient Tayrona people (ancestors of the Arhuacos) hundreds of years ago.

It is considered an ancestral and native variety valued for its high quality, delicate aroma, and energetic purity. It is organically grown in the wild rainforest following natural processes and agroforestry systems, that integrate the cacao trees with local nature. It is a delicate and difficult variety to preserve, and today the Arhuaco community is devoted to protecting and restoring this precious legacy.

These cacao fields are blessed fortnightly by the Mamos (spiritual leaders) through sacred pagamento ceremonies. These rituals are a special offering ceremony designed to give back to mother Earth, honour nature, the land and the cacao trees. With each pagamento, intentions of harmony, balance, and respect are infused into the harvest.

Each bean in these blocks carries a living message for us. It is infused with the energy of the Sierra, the wisdom of the ancestors, and the heartfelt intentions of the community. Anyone who consumes it is invited to feel a connection to their culture, to the Sierra, and to their living tradition.
